Sensory Time Classes

Sensory Time Classes are aimed at children aged 1 months – 18 months, with activities that stimulate little minds, exercise little bodies and are generally fun for all.

Jo developed Sensory Time using her acquired Montessori skills and knowledge, combined with her therapies to provide a Holistic environment in which children can truly flourish.

Every child has a unique and curious mind, and their own characteristics and temperament. Babies and children mature and develop at different rates and at different times in their lives, however their confidence will increase with the support of others. Development for your child is a natural continuous yet complex interaction, however early relationships strongly influence how children develop; they explore the world through the relationships with others and through their SENSES!

Sensory time is a class for babies and their parent/carers, which encourages interaction and provides activities to stimulate babies senses, and development. It has the benefit of encouraging baby's curiosity, excitement, anticipation, surprise, imagination, movement, cause and effect, balance, co-ordination, different sensations and most importantly bonding with its parent/carers.

The various baby activities aim to build up a vocabulary of sensory experiences (e.g. visual, auditory and tactile), to enhance physical contact (massage, touching, cuddling and rocking) between you and your baby and to promote the development of speech through the use of music and songs.

Activities vary weekly. All activities are carefully planned by Jo to encourage excellent physical, social and emotional development, language and communication skills, co-ordination and flexibility, to further the development of your child's "absorbent mind" and entire being!

Please note that parent/carers need to have previously undergone
baby massage instruction - for further information please contact Jo @ Cheerful Cherubs
